“Embracing Inclusion: People With Disabilities Enriching the Workforce” is a collection of photographs and profiles of people with a disability as they see themselves in the workplace. It is still commonly known that the unemployment rate of those with a disability stands near 75%. Of those, approximately 75% are ready, willing, and able to secure gainful employment.
On 96 pages of glossy, four-color print, personal stories are shared to offer a visual composition demonstrating that those with a disability in the workplace need not be disabled. Introduced by Dr. Temple Grandin, President George H. Bush, Senator Tom Harking (retired) and actor Robert David Hall all share their thoughts on the employment of people with disabilities.
Inclusion was written to:
• Allow potential employers a look at a positive workforce with a wide range of abilities.
• Give parents an inspiring look at potential opportunities for their child with a disability.
• Encourage others with a disability that self-worth, income, and professional enrichment can exist through employment.
I welcome your comments and questions about the book and opportunities about speaking to your organization.
