Anu Pala

Anu has been on numerous stages as a speaker, host, and performer and thrives on injecting creativity into everything she does.

Anu Pala is an accessibility consultant, professional speaker, and podcast producer who lives with complete vision loss. The majority of Anu’s career has been in the non-profit sector serving marginalized and underrepresented groups and with organizations to make their workplaces more accessible and inclusive. Anu has a BA in professional communications and specializes in inclusive employment, digital accessibility, and podcast production. She carries out this work now through her business, Anu Vision Coaching & Consulting.

Anu was a recipient of the Founders Award in recognition of having exemplified the qualities of leadership, sustainability and personal development through Royal Roads University and a delegate of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women in 2020 and 2021.


Skincare: Beyond the Surface

As a self proclaimed skincare junky, Anu loves to learn about the latest lotions and potions to make her skin feel more smoother, softer, glowy, and youthful. Through her vision loss journey, she has also learned about what it takes to be comfortable in your own skin and how to shine within. In this engaging talk, Anu uses the analygy of skincare ingredients and personal stories to describe how to maintain healthy skin from the inside out. Participants will:

  • Understand the importance of washing away what no longer serves you and starting off on a clean canvas.
  • Understand how toxins can negatively impact your mental health and progress.
  • Explore what nourishing and protecting your inner skin looks like and how it can transform your life.

Inclusion at Work: Championing Accessibility in the Workplace

According to the 2022 Canadian Survey on Disability (CSD), 27% of Canadians aged 15 years and older, or 8.0 million people, identified having one or more disability. Despite numerous positive stories and experiences, people with disabilities remain less likely than others to be employed, both in Canada and the world. We know that people with disabilities bring a wealth of tallent and skills to the table. Leveraging this tallent pool will not only diversify your team, but will also improve your bottom line. In this presentation, participants will:

  • Understand the barriers that people with disabilities face throughout their career.
  • Gain tangible tools and strategies on inclusive hiring practices.
  • Learn how assistive technology and AI can improve productivity for people with disabilities at work and contribute to their overall success.

Into the Light: Seeing Beyond Vision Loss

An inspirational story of darkness and light. In this talk, Participants will learn what it takes to survive and thrive amidst adversity. Participants will:

  • Learn how Anu came into the light after losing her vision.
  • Understand how to normalize disability
  • Learn strategies on how to rise after a fall.
  • Gain strategies on staying positive amidst negativity and live authentically.
